Benefits of Robotic Deburring Systems
One of the main benefits of employing robotic deburring systems is removing the human limitations that occur when manufacturers rely on manual deburring operations. In the past, manufacturers were able to do basic deburring, effectively achieving burr-free parts, but this was a time-consuming and inaccurate science. There is little to no consistency when it comes to a manual deburring technique from part to part, day to day.
Enter the Technology
While experience is instrumental in any manufacturing process, the addition of technology through a robotic deburring system can make powdered metal materials more than just free from burrs. The choice of a robotic deburring system depends on the desired edges. Robotic deburring can use belts, brushes or both brushes and belts. Abrasive brushes are necessary for finishing processes made in a variety of filaments. Bristle filament types include rectangular, crimped and rounded versions. Other considerations include grit size, filament and the ration of abrasive grains to nylon.
If you’re a manufacturer looking to deburr powdered metals and green powdered metals, the CDMC Mag series offers through-feed, in-line deburring machines on flat parts needing deburring on both sides.
